Mrs. Jorgen Andersen Passed Away Sunday

Had Been Seriously ill Since Christmas Day; Funeral Held Wednesday Afternoon At the First Lutheran Church; Interment At Wallingford.

The people of Graettinger and Vieinty learned with sorrow Monday morning that Mrs. Jorgen Andersen had passed away Sunday evening at 11:20. All knew of the seriousness of her condition and the hopeless though valiant battle she was making for life and though the sad news of her death was not a surprise it ended the hope that relatives and friends entertained for her recovery. Mrs. Andersen was taken ill last fall with an ailment that afected the stomach. The trouble was never definitely diagnosed though an x-ray picture failed to ahow a growth of any kind. She spent several weeks in the Birney hospital at Esterville and returned home feeling improved in health. She was recovering nicely until Christmas day when she was taken quite ill and in a short time her condition was very serious. She gradually grew worse until death ended her sufferings Sunday.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon. Services were conducted at the home and at the First Lutheran church in this city at two o'clock. The pastor, the Rev. M. Mandsager afficiated. He was assisted by Rev. Marsted, of Minneapolis, a friend of the Andersons family. The large church was filled with neighbors and friends og the deceased who gathered to pay ther last respects to her memory. Banks of beautiful flowers were in evidence at the home, the church and the grave. Interment was in the Wallingford Lutheran cemetery where her parents are at rest. The pall bearers were S. E. Sandvig, Charley Jackson, Chris Jensen, Peter F. Petersen, Tom Helgeson and Carl Thoreson.

Anna O. Myhre was born on the Myhre homestead in High Lake township three miles north of grattinger March 23 1884. She was 48 years of age last March. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Iver Myhre were pioneers of this section. They homesteaded in High Lake township 68 years ago shortly after the close of the Civil war. On May 22, 1912, Anna Myhre was united in marriage to Mr. Jorgen Anderson. The Ceremony was performed in Graettinger, the Rev. S. O. Sande officiating. During the twenty years of their married life Mr. and Mrs. Anderson made their home on their farm northwest of graettinger.

Mrs. Anderson's sad death at such an early age in life is mourned by her husband, by two adopted children, Lyle and Marie, and by two sisters and four brothers. The sisters are Mrs. storhow and Caroline, of Esterville. The brothers are Oscar, of Jackson, Minnesota; Martin of Graettinger; Albert of Huntington, Iowa; and Elmer of Ankenny, Iowa.

Mrs. Anderson's death at such an early age in life is sincerely mourned by the people of graettinger and vicinity. She was popular among all her friends and acquaintances. She was at all times cheerful, pleasant and agreeable and was an active worker in church and other affairs in her community. She was at all times hearty and robust and was scarcely ever ill until stricken with the ailment that caused her death. Mrs. Anderson was a devoted wife and a helpful companion and will be sadly missed from the happy family circle. Neighbors and friends who prized her friendship so highly feel keenly the loss they have sustained. The loving brothers and sisters mourn deeply over the death of their youngest sister. A good wife, a true friend and a loving sister has been called by death. the boy and girl who knew her as mother and upon whom she showered love and affection have also suffered a deep sorrow. The First Lutheran church of which she was a faithful member has lost one of its most devout and pious members. Thos who are left to mourn the passing of this good woman have the consolation of knowing that God does all things for the best. Those whom He loves best are often sorely tried in this world. The Times extends sincere sympathy to Mr. Anderson, to the motherless boy and girl and to the sad and heart breaking sorrow they have been called upon to bear and we sincerely hope that time will lighten the burden of sorrow they now feel so keenly.

Relatives from out of town who were in atendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Myhre, of Ankenny, Iowa; Oscar Myhre, of Jackson, Minnesota, Albert Myhre of Huntington, Iowa and Marinus Anderson, of Clarion. There were also numerous of other relatives and friends from Ruthven, Wallingford and Esterville in attendance at the last sad ritees.
